~ A Passage of The Yggdrasil's Truth |
Character Synopsis[]
Yggdrasil is the main plot point of Etrian Odyssey and appears in every game of the series. No matter the game, it is depicted as a huge tree that is somehow linked to the Yggdrasil Labyrinth. However, its role changes from game to game. In the first game, the Yggdrasil Tree is a major plot element, being the central point of research of the Yggdrasil Project. Named after the legendary tree of life, it was designed as a system that would clean the planet's atmosphere and restore its climate, making it once again a place suited for life. In the second game, Yggdrasil stands right behind the city of High Lagaard and its labyrinth begins within a gate on the side of the tree, leading higher and higher until eventually reaching the Heavenly Keep, the flying castle that was once home of Ancient Lagaard's inhabitants from one thousand years ago. In the third game of the series, it is a major element of the story, having the greatest plot importance so far. This tree is actually a great, powerful sentient being that has traveled the outer space for eons seeking to destroy the Abyssal God and the many roles of Yggdrasil vary from game.
Character Statistics[]
Tiering: 2-C | 2-C
Verse: Etrian Odyssey
Name: Yggdrasil, The World Tree
Gender: Inapplicable (Consistently referred to in pronouns that suggests it lacks any definitive gender)
Age: 4.5 Billion Years (Yggdrasil, no matter the incarnation, is portrayed as usually existing for as early as the planet itself)
Classification: World Tree, Guardian of Earth, Cosmic Force
Special Abilities:
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Flight (Yggdrasil is capable of flight and it's suggested it can traverse the cosmos), Plant Manipulation (Yggdrasil is capable of forcing vegetation across landscapes, making planets grow in environments it normally shouldn't. This extends to being able to make plants and other forms of vegetation grow inside humans, practically deforming them), Sealing (Constantly depicted as being able to seal opponents, such as The Abyssal God and The Eternal Tyrant), Weather Manipulation (Yggdrasil is capable of altering and manipulation the entire atmosphere), Elemental Manipulation (Fire, Ice & Lightning; Scaling from Yggdroids), Barrier Creation (Capable of erecting elemental barriers or even standard ones, of which can counter with that element. Their barriers are powerful enough to contain entities such as The Abyssal God), Poison Manipulation (Can create poisonous circles that inflicts opponents with a toxin should they step in), Power Nullification (Can nullify binds or status aliments), Empathic Manipulation (Can cause opponents to become panicked), Sleep Manipulation(Can put opponents to sleep, including even beings such as Abyssal God, whom of which Yggdrasil put to sleep within the deep ocean), Statistics Amplification, Probability Manipulation (Can increase the chances of inflicting a status aliment), Statistics Reduction (Releasal Spell removes an opponent's resistances to status aliments and binds), Shockwave Creation (Can create shockwaves potent enough to harm opponents), Life-Force Absorption (Ferocity saps the life essence from an opponent with a basic attack), Spatial Manipulation (Dimensional Cut slices through space and dimensions), Darkness Manipulation (Abilities such as Darkness Wing derive from control over darkness and many other Hollow abilities do as well), Immortality (Type 1, 4 & 6; Should Yggdrasil's physical vessel be destroyed, it's essence will return to it's true from, which can either possess a vessel to recreate it's physical form or do it from scratch), Mind Manipulation (Has pollen capable of altering or even destroying an opponent's mind), Biological Manipulation (Can cause opponents to rapidly rot, to the extend where nothing is left in it's wake), Explosion Manipulation (Can induce explosions at will).
- Resistance to Space-Time Manipulation, Law Manipulation, Gravity Manipulation (Can naturally exist within The Empyreal Bridge and endure it's extreme conditions, including the warping of space-time, the laws that defy typical laws and the gravity that greatly mimics the universe), Poison Manipulation, Empathic Manipulation (Unaffected by the toxins in Fetid Necropolis), Darkness Manipulation, Void Manipulation (Can survive The Eternal Tyrant's "darkness", which is nothingness as it's contextually meant to mean the primordial void before creation)
All Previous Abilities, but enhanced. Non-Corporeal (Yggdrasil's true essence is spiritual in nature and lacks any form), Abstract Existence (It's implied that Yggdrasil is the counterpart to Eternal Tyrant, whom of which is the embodiment of chaos), Possession (Can take control of other beings and use them as a mouthpiece, such as Seyfriend and presumably The Arken), Acausality (Non-Linearity; Maintains a similar nature to those who exist in The Empyreal Bridge, who experience space-time and the laws of the universe much differently than our universe), Non-Physical Interaction, Void Manipulation (Capable of interacting with Eternal Tyrant, whom of which is nonexistence itself and is the concept of evil and darkness. Scales to characters who can interact with ghosts and intangible entities)
Destructive Ability: Multi-Universe Level (One of Yggdrasil's avatars is the Yggdrasil Tree itself, a structure that is much larger in the inside and even contains the Empyreal Bridge, a space the size of an entire universe. It's heavily implied that Yggdrasil contains many other universal space-time continuums within it's structure. It's avatars should all physically be comparable to one another, with one being able to take on The Abyssal God and was able to keep it sealed away for billions of years. Primevil is a manifestation of Yggdrasil and acts as its core, thus should maintain the power of Yggdrasil's vessels) | Multi-Universe Level (Above its own manifestations and is likely above The Eternal Tyrant, being able to consistently stop it)
Speed: Massively FTL+ (Capable of traversing the universe to different planets, some of which are implied to be outside of the local solar system. Should be comparable to entities such as The Star Devourer, who of which can traverse outer space and destroy planets daily, additionally can reach outer space to earth in seconds), likely Immeasurable (Above The Abyssal God, who regularly traverses the sea of space and time with its sheer movements. However, it is unknown whether it is done through a specific ability or just its speed alone) | Massively FTL+, likely Immeasurable (Superior to their physical vessels and superior to The Eternal Tyrant)
Lifting Ability: Immeasurable (In Etrian Odyssey V, it's avatar was able to contain The Empyreal Bridge, which is the size of the universe and it's implied that Yggdrasil contains many other universal space-time continuums as apart of it's sturcute) | Immeasurable (Above its manifestations in power and in virtually every other aspect)
Striking Ability: Multi-Universal (Defeated and sealed away The Abyssal God from causing more destruction across the universe) | Multi-Universal (Superior to the likes of The Eternal Tyrant and generally overpowers him)
Durability: Multi-Universe Level (Consistently contains threats capable of destroying the Yggdrasil Tree, such as The Abyssal God and The Eternal Tyrant, with it being suggested they can only destroy Yggdrasil once they escape it's confines to begin with) | Multi-Universe Level
Stamina: Limitless (Can remain active for billions of years, both protecting the earth from threats and maintaining the environment, keeping it from destroying itself) | Limitless (Scaling from its manifestations and as a result of maintaining their avatars for equal time)
Range: Multi-Universal with powers (Can affect the entirety of Yggdrasil, which extends beyond all known stars in the universe and has a realm called the Empyreal Bridge, which is the size of the entire universe. It's implied that Yggdrasil contains many universes within it's structure)
Intelligence: Nigh-Omniscient across Earth, otherwise Very High (Has traversed the cosmos and knows virtually there is to know about the universe and the many galaxies. Can catalog different parts of the universe and the many species that have inhabited it, such as The Deep Ones and The Arken)
Weaknesses: Generally does not take action, unless there is a specific need for it | None notable
Versions: Primeval/Manifestations | True Form
