Introduction[]
Yep, we are back with another Hololive blog but this time is going to be different. Normally when I make blogs on Hololive, it's in relation to some new discovery or some potential upgrade for the verse and it's characters. To my own surprise, we aren't doing either of these and instead, this is going to be a slight downgrade to the verse, specifically to mid to high end V-Tubers who fall short of the god-tier classification (basically anything Council level or above).
When I say downgrade, I really mean a readjustment of the tiering as nowadays I find myself disagreeing with 1-C Holomem (well, more like them being rated as 9-D in AP). What this blog seeks to do is explain why 9-D Holomem is both no longer valid and also propose a new tiering in which they'd sit, which yes, will replace where the Holomem are currently placed at on this wiki. This is going to be quite the blog and it's funny that this is the first genuine downgrade I've given Hololive. Welp, let's just get into this considering the ground we have to cover here
Why 1-C V-Tubers Is No Longer Valid[]
Upon looking at the pages for Hololive, you tend to notice most Holomem are currently rated as 1-C and while this tiering is technically correct, the degree in which they are 1-C is, in my humble opinion, inflated and I'm going to use this section to essentially explain why I no longer agree with putting standard V-Tubers around this level.
The basis for 1-C V-Tubers is off the basis that Tokino Sora downscales from Kizuna A.I. and since V-Tubers from HoloX are capable of taking on beings around Sora's level, with Holomem being comparable (albeit weaker) than all the members, they essentially downscale alongside Sora into 1-C territory. That sounds pretty logical right ? What's the problem ? Well, let me highlight this in a bunch of bullet points
- Kizuna A.I.'s power is heavily dependent on how much connection she has to the world, meaning that she canonically has a fluctuation in her power and thus any scaling to her is fairly dubious in itself
- Similarly to Sora, Kizuna A.I. tends to hold back and given the thing we use for scaling was essentially her fighting against her friends, It's fair to say she likely wasn't going all out here and saw this as a friendly competition, per usual with her character
- Tokino Sora has self admitted that Kizuna A.I. is superior to her and that she's one of the people she genuinely respects, hammering in this notion that Kizuna A.I. is meant to be seen as a level above Sora, even by Sora herself, who knows of Kizuna's own power
I can go on and on but the bottom line is that Tokino Sora shouldn't really scale to Kizuna A.I. in the first place and that whatever scaling Kizuna gets from Neptunia is essentially isolated to her and those who have a reasonable argument to scale to Kizuna A.I. when actually trying. So since this isn't being used, this completely kills the 1-C scaling that Holomem get, seeing as it comes from downscaling from Tokino Sora to some degree, which she obviously doesn't scale to Kizuna A.I. anymore per reasons highlighted above
Where Does This Leave V-Tuber Scaling Now ?[]
Now, you may be wondering, does this completely kill Tier 1 scaling for Holomem not apart of The Council or is above them ? No, in fact, there's stuff that still falls within the 1-C territory (for this wiki at least) that even the avatars of The Council have, whom of which we established that basically any V-Tuber worth a damn scales to. To anyone who knows Hololive scaling, you'd know that there's three notable feats that exist for The Council and their avatars.
- Kronii was able to reverse time across the entire multiverse, before the big bang and even slept through it
- Kronii could cause distortions across space-time in the multiverse just by merely fighting an army of Amelia Watson's across all timelines
- Sana is capable of creating a "big bang" that created the local multiverse
Now, given that Hololive's multiverse is infinite, this would appear to just be 2-A right ? Well, wrong and for the simple fact that the local multiverse is suggested to be beyond 4 dimensions and is actually 5th dimensional, as mentioned by Kronii, who directly mentions a 5th dimension and implies that she's capable of both perceiving and traveling within higher dimensions, meaning that her scope should be High 2-A as a lowball. So yeah, this is pretty much a huge upgrade over the initially perceived "2-A feats" they were considered to be
However, you may be also asking "where is the 1-C" in this and to simply answer that, look at the scan again. I tricked you because there's another feat that Kronii has that essentially upgrades The Council's avatars to 6-D as Kronii here basically implies that she views the 5th dimension as nothing more than a fictional game, with her brain even being used as an analog to drive this analogy home. Given this difference, this would mean Kronii has ontological superiority to 5-D spaces and thus she'd be baseline 1-C per this wiki
- What's also interesting is there's support for this idea that Kronii is ontologically superior to the local multiverse as well. In one of her 3-D collabs, Kronii mentions how her true avatar's body is actually to large to exist in the universe and hence why she has a form that's just merely her head. Simply put, it's merely a figment of her true form, which exists beyond the universe
- Now also keep in mind, whilst "world" is used by Kronii here, the context is clearly the multiverse and not just a singular universe given they were in a nexus point which allowed for travel to alternate worlds. So yeah, "world" contextually means multiverse and thus it serves as support for the very blatant 1-C (6-D) scaling Kronii and the rest of Hololive now has
Conclusions[]
While Hololive is no longer 9-D when it comes to AP, it still have 6-D scaling and thus is still 1-C per this wiki's own standards. Outside of the wiki, they'd be Low 1-C but that's irrelevant. The thing I want to get across is that 9-D scaling is no longer valid and instead, 6-D is where most of the verse now scales to. Truth be told, this was bound to happen considering I've been thinking about the logistics of Holomem's ratings and it never sat right with me. Either way, what's done is done and as such, 9-D Holomem is no more
