Explanation of Link Cables + Refutation to Finite Multiverse Pokemon[]
So after having a long debate with someone. That gave me an idea to make a post about how Link Cables work (given if they physically apply to a verse) and explain the implications behind them. In addition, i seek to refute the notion that Pokemon's Multiverse isn't infinite, which people have started to argue against. Anyways let's get out with the show
Link Cables[]
For those of you who grew up with a Gameboy. You likely known of an object called a Link Cable. Well the purpose of a Link Cable is to link separate games together and essentially connect two separate worlds. Now in both Mystery Dungeon and OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire, it's shown that Link Cables are actually canon + they are things applicable to the verse. When using Link Cables to traverse to another world, it's described as "crossing Space and Time"

^ All these things prove that Link Cables + any function that allows travel across different games are indeed canonical and aren't just a Gameplay Mechanic without any significance
The Implications[]
Since Link Cables are proven a thing, this also suggests that each game is a separate world and aren't the same reality. This is further proven by the fact when you send a Pokemon to another game, it's described as "sending a Pokemon through Space and Time". Indicating that each game is separated by Space-Time and the same reality. With that in mind, we can conclude each game sold is it's own reality and as such, giving us a Multiverse
https://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon
Pokemon as a series has sold atleast 301 Million Units, which as shown above translates to universes (Likey more, as each game holds it own versions of Pokemon's Cosmology). So this proves that Pokemon has well over 1001 Universes
Refutation[]
There's no evidence that each game sold is a separate universe
That's easily debunked by the fact when you traverse to other people's games, it's said that you are traveling across Space and Time. Which proves that each game shares a different Space-Time Continuum.
Link Cables only connect different Pokemon Generations/Games[]
That's not how Link Cables work. They only connect games from the game generation. So that completely ignores the core function of what a Link Cable actually does. As i mentioned, it's proven each game sold i separated by Space-Time
Pokemon having an Infinite Multiverse
So before i even get the refuting this section, i'll link a post that explains how Pokemon has an infinite multiverse in the first place. Anyways, read the blog itself before reading the refutes
Now let's refute the arguments against it
The Mirror Cave creating an infinite chain is an assumption[]
This isn't an assumption. The Mirror Cave itself connects universes without beginning or end, this logically creates an infinite chain of knitted universes. As The Chain itself never begins in any universe or ends in any universe, meaning that essentially creates an infinite chain due to not ending or beginning
ad in·fi·ni·tum
/ˌad infəˈnīdəm/Submit
adverb
again and again in the same way; forever.
"registration is for seven years and may be renewed ad infinitum"
synonyms: forever, for ever and ever, evermore, always, for all time, until the end of time, in perpetuity, until hell freezes over; More
The idea the Infinite Chain goes on for Ad Infinitum is Circular Reasoning and a Hasty Generalization
Let's look at what a Circular Reasoning Fallacy is and why it's fallacious
"Circular reasoning takes the form: A implies B, which implies A, which ..."
"Circular reasoning is fallacious because reasoning and justification must start with the known and then determine the unknown - in the case of circular reasoning, it starts with the known and ends up with the equally known, thus it proves nothing."
>This argument doesn't fall under Circular Reasoning, as we already know The Mirror Cave itself has no beginning or end, as in, it doesn't start in any universe, nor does it end in any universe. The premise itself relies on a logical deduction that is supported by evidence
>Hasty Generalization falls under the same issue. There isn't a insufficient to deduce that the chain is infinite, as that comes as a result of the chain itself not ending in a any universe or even starting in any universe
The Mirror Cave doesn't have Infinite Space, thus it's not infinite
What's in the cave doesn't really matter. The Infinite Chain comes as a result of the fact the chain doesn't start in a universe or end in a universe, as a result, it infinitely connects universes
Conclusion[]
Link Cables in Pokemon prove that each game in Pokemon sold, is a separate cosmology with it's own separated Space-Time. Which is one of the things that proves Pokemon is a Multiverse, as Pokemon has sold over 301 million games, which are represented as universes in the game. Furthermore, Pokemon has an infinite chain, which in turn makes Pokemon an infinite multiverse due to connecting universes for Ad Infinitum
