Sealingg

Summary[]

Sealing is the ability to place a seal on an object, person, place or thing. This power is represented as placing one object and trapping it within another, although, this can also be presented as a character sealing away something and preventing it from ever manifesting or appearing every again. The process in which a user can seal something depends on the fiction and the user in question, with some being combat applicable abilities whilst others being lengthy, non-combat applicable rituals

This power inherently negates durability and is able to bypass one's endurance through simply trapping them within another object and preventing them from ever acting again until released from that object.

Variations[]

  • Physical: Sealing of this nature involves sealing one physical object in another physical object. An example of this would be sealing a character within a jar and preventing them from escaping as a byproduct of the seal placed upon them. This can be potentially done on the fly by an innate ability possessed by the user or may require preparation in order to achieve. In addition, the effects this has on the host or whatever object the character or physical object is sealed in is dependent on the fiction and object itself
  • Metaphysical: Sealing of this nature involves sealing away more metaphysical aspects, such as sealing away something's mind, soul or even entire concepts from influencing something. An example of this would be sealing away the concept of evil away from the world and preventing evil from spreading any further due to the seal placed on it and thus it's influence would cease or be dwindled as a result

Limitations[]

  • Sealing may depend on the user of the user and the opponent, with there being a chance that if the opponent is stronger, the user can't seal the opponent
  • The seal placed upon something may weaken overtime and eventually cease to function
  • A seal may be dependent on if a person is alive, meaning that if the user or someone dies, the seal becomes null and void
  • The seal-carrying person's state of health/mind may be tied to the strength of the seal, so anything that disturbs them may give the sealed being a chance to break out.
