The Nothing doesn't exist as a being and is nothingness itself
Summary
Nonexistent Physiology (often shortened to just NEP) is the state of existing as "nothing" or a general state of nothingness. Characters who possess this ability still "exist" in some type of way, as true nonexistence in a philosophical sense, doesn't often appear in fiction. That being said though, this ability allows one to still "exist" but as nothingness, residing outside the scope of physical or even metaphysical reality by virtue of not existing to begin with.
Types of Nonexistence
Type 1 - Physical Nonexistence
This variation of NEP involves characters not existing on the physical level. This can be represented as characters existing as a literal void of nothingness or simply just not existing, functionally being unable to be interacted with by anything that's existent. Characters of this nature still "exist" in some type of way but it's just their physical "existence" is nonexistent, lacking existence in the same way that a rock lacks a soul or how a machine lacks a consciousness
- Examples: Exdeath (Final Fantasy), Zoma (Dragon Quest), Long Horse (Trevor Henderson Mythos)
Type 2 - Mental Nonexistence
A variation of NEP that involves characters existing on a physical level but not a mental level. Characters of this nature simply can't be remembered and or through of by any means. To put it simply, no proof of their existence can exist and any attempts to recall them doesn't exist or will cease to exist to accommodate the fact that they are mentally nonexistent
- Examples: SCP-3930 (SCP Foundation), House In The Ocean (Monument Mythos), Klonoa (Klonoa)
Type 3 - Conceptual Nonexistence
This variation of NEP involves characters not existing on the abstract level, fundamentally lacking a concept of existing altogether. This can be represented as being devoid of the concept of "existence" or predating the concept altogether, thus it not influencing you in order to "exist" in some type of way. Characters of this nature lack the fundamental concepts and underlying ideas that anchor one's existence into reality and thus they can be likened to "absolute" nonexistence
- Examples: The Lord of Nightmares (Slayers), Hakos Baelz (Hololive), Black Alice (Monster Girl Quest)
Type 4 - Transdual Nonexistence
A variation of NEP involves characters existing in a state that is neither existent or nonexistent, oftentimes characters of this nature existing as conceptual unities or voids that lack any semblance of differentiation on a conceptual level. One who possesses this level of nonexistence can be likened to being unknowable, defying even the most fundamental principles that can be defined
- Examples: Yog-Sothoth (Cthulhu Mythos), The Fireman (Twin Peaks), Lain Iwakura (Serial Experiments Lain), Kami (Hololive)
