Summary[]
Hololive is a virtual talent agency that consists of Virtual YouTubers (otherwise known as V-Tubers) owned by Japanese tech entertainment company COVER Corporation. The name "Hololive" initially was used for COVER's 3D stream distribution app but would eventually become the name of the subsidiary company that would become most recognizable to people across the world. Before the first generation debuted, COVER showcased a tech demo for the company's 3D capture digital avatar technology, which would eventually go into the creation of Tokino Sora, the first ever V-Tuber apart of the company.
The existence of Sora served as a foundation for Hololive's first generation, which debuted from May to June 2018. From this generation fourth, many other generations would spawn into existence, with many having their own themes and concepts surroundings them. Additionally, Hololive would branch off into many different sections across the world and into many different markets. The first of this branch is Holostars but from them, many other branches such as Hololive China, Hololive Indonesia, and Hololive English would also follow, with each becoming successful and the latter two even continuing to this day with tons of positive reception.
As of now, there are a total of 71 active hololive-affiliated talents and the total amount of subs contributing to over 67 million subscribers on YouTube, with Gawr Gura being the most subscribed V-Tuber both in the company and worldwide.

Power of the Verse[]
Despite not focusing on combat and looking rather harmless, Hololive as a verse is extremely powerful when compared to most series (even those that center around combat), with the main reasoning being due to the open lore policy that Hololive runs on that makes potentially anything and everything canon to some capacity, alongside vast amounts of lore and supplementary material that sheds more light on the capabilities of the V-Tubers and the entities that occupy their verse
Even the most basic of V-Tubers hit Tier 4 with many V-Tubers having Solar System Level strength when holding back and an upwards of Multi-Solar System Level power when deciding to go all out. The stronger V-Tubers can even reach into the Tier 1 category, with many of them hitting levels such as Megaverse Level due to the scaling to The Councils various multiverse effecting feats and also being comparable to either Tokino Sora or her managers such as A-Chan for example (such as HoloX, whom even Sora saw as somewhat a threat and the many V-Tubers who grew stronger after Dawn of The Breakers, such as Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio and so on). This in itself is not even close to the full magnitude of the verse, which breaches into the higher ends of the tiering system with the introduction of The Hololive EN Council and various cosmic entities who govern the multiverse in some fashion, with the true forms of The Council sitting beyond an infinite-dimensional multiverse in a realm that stands beyond the entire scope of the full scope of the multiverse, making them 1-A, as The Council see reality as merely a dream and a game in which they are independent of on all levels of existence. Beyond even The Council are The Archetpyes in which inhabit The Collective Unconsciousness, the deeper level of The Realm of The Gods in which supersedes even that of The Realm of The Gods and is serves as the origin for The Council as they are manifestations of the underlying, universal images and forms present within, which means they sit at 1-A and are on the same level as void entities such as Ina or The Ancient Ones, who are seen as comparable to Moona Hoshinova. Standing beyond the entire confines of the multiverse is, Hakos Baelz and IRyS, whom of which is the "chaos" in which holds together and encompasses all archetypes present within The Collective Unconsciousness, alongside being beyond the concept of space-time as the void that stands beyond the multiverse, thus sitting at another layer of 1-A, with same applying to The Wahtcher, who's realm is beyond even The Void itself. Even this isn't the upper limit of the verse as above the aforementioned entities is both Kami (who Sakura Miko is a vessel for), Laplace's Demon (who's remains became La+ Darkness), Omegaα and the various shrine and tarot gods who scale to the wider cosmology as opposed to the miniscule multiverse, finally cementing Hololive as 1-A β
Hololive also has a wide array of hax, with many of the abilities also being standard abilities that V-Tubers have, such as Social Influencing, Energy Manipulation, Accelerated Development (Training, Battle & Leveling - Physical Stats & Abilities), 4th Wall Awareness, Memory Manipulation, Non-Physical Interaction, Immortality (Type 5 & 11), Non-Corporeal, Creation, Pocket Reality Manipulation, Acausality (Non-Linearity), Regeneration (High-Godly), Law Manipulation, Explosion Manipulation, Immersion, Space-Time Manipulation, Negation, Absorption, Conceptual Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Plot Manipulation, Size Manipulation, Biological Manipulation
- Humans in Hololive have abilities such as Cognition, Subjective Reality, Conceptual Manipulation, Higher-Dimensional Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Quantum Manipulation, Space-Time Manipulation due to the fact their subconscious desires and thoughts are able to influence the world around them, being able to even effect The Realm of The Gods and locations even further such as The Void or the wider cosmology of Hololive
- Demons and Angels respectively get general abilities such as Abstract Existence and Empathic Manipulation whilst the former gets specific abilities such as Unholy Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Fire Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Dark-Force Manipulation, Immortality (1, 5 & 6), Possession and the latter get abilities such as Holy Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Life-Force Manipulation, Healing and Shapeshifting
- God-Tiers possess abilities such as Nonexistent Physiology (Absolute), Transduality (Type 3, up to Tier 4 for Kami and Laplace's Demon), Large Size (Type 11), Higher-Dimensional Manipulation, Avatar Creation and a wide array of others
Hololive Alternative is fairly powerful despite how little content exists for it at the current moment. Just off the trailers alone, the verse skyrockets to Tier 7 as a result of Shirogane Noel being able to throw Coco and yield levels of energy that reaches into the Low 7-B territory. This is supported by feats of Ookami Mio and Shirakami Fubuki being able to place noticeable holes within mountains with just their sparring alone. Above even those two, even when combined is Nakiri Ayame, whom of which could overpower both of them when going all out and also scaling into 7-B in the process
- In regards to abilities, Hololive Alternative isn't as robust as it's original timeline counterpart but isn't lacking in said department either. Characters such as Fubuki and Mio possess abilities such as Soul Manipulation, Purification and Summoning as main abilities due to their natures as Kami's whilst entities such as Ayame and demons in general possess abilities like Empathic Manipulation and Abstract Existence (as they exist as Stigma, which is "Evil aura. Scorn, spite, fear, and other negative emotions" according to Hololive ALT's website)
Hololive Error might seem unassuming at first but it's power is fairly strong, with characters such as Misora Shino having the abilities such as Reality Warping, Existence Erasure, Time Manipulation and a multitude of others as a result of a prayer she made to have a perfect life and a desire to grant a perfect afterlife to those who perished in the Aogami High School landslide. While lacking power herself, she is able to use this power to control Aogami High School's surroundings, including even effecting it's celestial bodies, such as the sun and shaping it to the way she desired, making the verse Tier 4 by virtue (hitting the 4-C territory)
Shinomiya Sakura has similar abilities to Shino, specifically being able to grant wishes and make a desire that counteracts the one made by Shino's, giving her the ability to change Fate and receive blessings from the shrine in which she made her prayers to, which is implied to be a blessed by gods and spirits alike
Aside from those two, the verse is relatively no different from the real world, although all spirits trapped within the Time Loop have Immortality of the Type 8 & 11 variety, being reliant on the existence of the loop and being able to indefinitely reincarnate as a result of Shino's desireCalculation[]
- Rushia Causes Chicxulub Impact Event - 310 Teratons (Large Country Level)
- Haachama Blows Up Earth - 18 Ninatons (Dwarf Star Level)
- Shion Destroys The Planet - 19 Ninatons (Dwarf Star Level)
- Haachama Blows Up Earth Again - 8 Tenatons (Red Dwarf Level)
- Korone Destroys The Sun - 318 FOE (Solar System Level)
- Sana's KE Without Limiter - 21 PetaFOE (Multi-Solar System Level)
- Creation of Resource World - 1 ZettaFOE (Multi-Solar System Level)
- This also applies to the general feats of being able to create realms with starry skies
- Characters who scale to Pre-Dawn of Breakers V-Tubers are rated as 4-B (318 FOE) when holding back
- Characters who scale relatively to or above the Post-Dawn of Breakers V-Tubers are rated as 4-A (16 EXaFOE) when holding back
- This is based off downscaling from Tokino Sora and The Managers, alongside scaling to The Council's avatars
- Their speeds remain the same as even without magic amplifying their physical stats, they are still treated as comparable to V-Tubers in speed and are able to still react to them despite being massively weaker normally
Regarding Versus Matches[]
- The Non-Corporeality of V-Tubers isn't just an extension of the nature of The Virtual World and more so a byproduct of their nature as V-Tubers. What this means is that even outside The Virtual World, they'll be treated as being intangible to others who can't interact with incorporeal beings when it comes to threads
- It's assumed that a V-Tuber is at full strength unless it's specified they are holding back on the thread or there's a certain underlying condition that suggests they would hold back. For example, putting Inugami Korone against Nekomata Okayu would make both automatically hold back and not want to use their full strength
- Furthermore, fights that take place in certain locations would also serve as a basis for if a V-Tuber in question is holding back, with a prime example being if a V-Tubers is fighting within the Hololive HQ, as they don't want to destroy it and get scolded by A-Chan, so thus it's assumed they'd hold back there
- The Observer Effect will be treated as an ability that can be weaponized only when it's proven that the user in question can actually use it innately akin to how both Matsuri and Luna utilized it. Given that V-Tubers are all basically comparable, this means any human V-Tuber should be capable of using it the same way those two could. This means that any human who isn't a V-Tuber (essentially just normal, standard humans with no special properties) requires proof they can weaponize it, otherwise it's just a non-combat applicable ability that only works with large sums of humans
- It should be noted that not every V-Tuber is willing to use it as much as some others, so it shouldn't be assumed to be an opening move for every V-Tuber who does possess the ability to utilize The Observer Effect
Regarding Scaling[]
- In regards to speed, it has been decided that V-Tubers are just as fast as the things they pilot. This stems from the fact we've seen V-Tubers consistently react and or keep up with the things they pilot. This means that them needing fast vehicles such as The Lamborghini, doesn't gatekeep them from being FTL or higher, especially when there's more feats of that nature than anything else in the series
- Refrain from scaling Hololive to the other characters they cross-over with, as often times they are operating on an entirely different power level than usual or it's not the exact version we know from the main timeline. The only exception of this has been Hyperdimension Neptunia and that's only out of the revelation that Kizuna A.I from the game was the same Kizuna from the main timeline she originated from and not a copy
- Additionally, refrain to scaling Hololive's cosmology to other cosmologies, as despite the fact many of the cross-overs they have end up being canon, it doesn't prove that their cosmologies are the same as opposed to the cosmologies of the various series occupying the same reality. This simply means that they share a same reality but their multiverses are separated and thus no scalable to one another
- Any character who scales to the powers of V-Tubers will only be treated as 4-A tops, unless there's a reason to suspect they scale to V-Tubers who are on the level of Golden Oruyanke and the boost it gave many V-Tubers. So this means many different sectors of Hololive will only be this level unless we have reason to suspect they scale to the V-Tubers of the main JP branch or have their own individual feats around the level of the Golden Oruyanke
- Given the abundance of evidence that Hololive follows the teachings of Carl Jung and also draws heavy from various religious sources such as Gnosticism or Kabbalistic Mysticism to the degree where it's almost accurate to their original sources, it has been decided that Hololive can pull from those sources to apply to cosmology and other things in the series only when it's proven that Hololive is alluding to it's existence or as a means to support the existence or interpretation of another thing
- On this same note, this doesn't mean that everything that is present in Hololive is 1:1 with those sources and one shouldn't attempt to scale Hololive using the full implications found in sources, namely ones that contradict what's present in Hololive's interpretation of such and or aren't supported to be things Hololive are abiding by on a cosmological level
Terminology[]

- Graduation: The termed to refer to a V-Tuber retiring from their current persona, borrowed from the idol community to refer to Idol's moving on to do other passions. In-universe, it's the first step to V-Tubers reincarnating into another life, often taking the form of another V-Tuber from another universe
- Mama/Papa: The term used to refer to a V-Tuber's illustrator (with Mama referring to female illustrators and Papa referring to male illustrators). Sometimes, an illustrator might even be a full fledged V-Tuber that interacts with their creations (as the case with Ui Shigure or Iida Pochi). - COVER: Refers to COVER Corporation, the company that owns Hololive.

While the phenomena went initially unnamed, it wasn't until HoloweEN in which the phenomena was actually named despite the many allusions to it's existence prior
- Idol Power: The official term of the supernatural and magical abilities of V-Tubers. It originally was a term that was out of universe and was often used to describe a V-Tubers degree of idol appeal. The term has sense became an official one that is used to refer to the innate abilities that all V-Tubers have, with it being seemingly this cosmic source of power that mainly V-Tubers can tap into but even other beings who aren't V-Tubers can also utilize for various purposes
- The Voice of The Universe: Another name for "Kami", with it also simply being shortened to "The Universe" as a means to signify "Kami" is everything there is and ever can be. This term was first mentioned by Hoshimachi Suisei to refer to a underlying "force" that she was communicating in within space. This would later be used by Tsukumo Sana and Sakura Miko as a means to refer to the same "entity" that Suisei was
A general glossary for terms used in the V-Tubing community that don't pertain entirely to scaling purposes can be found here and here
