Shizuo Heiwajima (平和島静雄, Heiwajima Shizuo) serves as one of the main protagonists of the anime Durarara!!! And one of the titular central protagonists of the Dengeki Bunko: Crossing Void and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition, and as a playable character of "Extraordinary Ones", he is renowned as the strongest man in Ikebukuro. He works as Tom Tanaka's bodyguard and is friends with Celty Sturluson and Shinra Kishitani. Despite quitting the Dollars, he is still regarded as one of its most influential members.

Every time he is injured and heals, his raw physical strength increases, and his body becomes more robust and more durable to compensate for the injury. He is upgrading his muscles, bones, and other body parts. Making him being a Reactive Adapting human.

Shizuo is too numb to pain, and his body does not feel strain when performing heavy lifting. This is thanks to his bones been broken from lifting large objects numerous times as a child, and then his body recovering from the damage. He didn't even flinch when being stabbed and didn't notice he had been shot with a handgun until he felt a bit faint and slipped on his blood.

In the webcomic "Minidura," he destroyed half of a skyscraper by just clashing his fist towards Izaya's apartment room just because of a misunderstanding of the man attempting to make money by creating accessories about Celty without her permission, even when it was requested by Shinra to do so.
In the special collaboration crossover novel, IndexVSDRRR, Shizuo manages to catch Academy City's largest airship, the Sky By Fire, with his bear hands.
