Darkness Manipulation is the ability to control darkness and shadows, serving as an opposition to Light Manipulation. The concept of darkness is merely the absence of light and is the earliest thing to exist in the universe, which is often times why it overlaps with Void Manipulation
Users of this ability are capable of creating, controlling and shaping darkness and shadows. Darkness can be used to cloud everything in total darkness, however, it can also be concentrated into energy form to create Dark Energy, act as an absence of light and a solid substance or allow users to do a wide array of things that can defend them such as make shields or areas of darkness that provide defense as well
Possible Uses[]
The general ability allows one to control darkness and shadows, such as being able to create/generate/increase, absorb, shape and manipulate them on different levels. This can include controlling it's effects, sizes, shapes and intensity levels
- It's possible for stronger users to shroud massive locations in total darkness, whether it be entire cities to larger and more cosmic scales like entire worlds, galaxies or even universes
- It's also known that Darkness Manipulation can allow for things such as cloaking one's own self, creating absolute darkness or areas of darkness where foes are blind or can't be detected
- Absorption: Can potentially absorb light and other things should it be used in that fashion
- Void Manipulation: Sometimes darkness overlaps as a concept with nothingness, as the universe initially began as pure darkness and that in itself is attributed to nothingness
- Adaption: Darkness Manipulation can potentially give users the ability to adapt to the darkness and or even use it to see within the dark, giving them a form of Night Vision
- Energy Manipulation: Some users can concentrate darkness into energy form to attack with dark energy that serves as an opposition to standard energy and light
More versatile users can even solidify darkness to create extra limbs or constructs, such as animating/manipulating darkness to create things such as tentacles, chains and other extra body parts
- This can also extend to create weapons comprised of darkness or items, such as creating swords made out of darkness or other objects that serve a purpose for the user themselves
Limitations[]
- Can potentially become corrupted or even affected by their exposure to darkness
- May have to be in sync with darkness in order to use it extensive, whether it be their own darkness or another source for their powers
- Users sometimes are unable to create darkness and can only manipulate the available darkness within an area
- Distance, mass, precision, etc. depend upon of the knowledge, skill, and strength of the user.
- Light Manipulation and other abilities similar usually serve as a hard counter to this. It is possible for strong darkness to overpower weaker light though
