Summary[]
Corruption is the ability to manipulate the powers of corruption, whether through eroding their morality, "infect" someone or something with one's power (changing them into another state of being) and manifesting corruption in a variety of ways. The ability can be used to corrupt a person into doing anything. This is similar to Mind Manipulation (often crossing over into it's facets, such as Empathic Manipulation or Madness Manipulation)
Corruption can possibly be done through the aforementioned methods, alongside biological corruptions such as through Biological Manipulation or Disease Manipulation (Including ways that make it unable to be classified other than corruption). One rare application of this ability can also be in reverse, such as making someone a better individual
Variations[]
Influential Corruption: This type of Corruption doesn't involve any form of supernatural abilities and no powers are required for this. Those who are slick with words can use their words or actions to influence those around them and mold them to their will. This method can take time and will usually result in a change in morality for the opponent (Note: This can overlap with Social Influencing, but generally is different)
- Examples: Reinhard Heydrich (Masadaverse) and Dio Brando (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
Biological Corruption: This variation of Corruption involves the alteration of one's biological structure, "corrupting" them on a biological level. This can be done through putting a piece of themselves into others (acting akin to a disease) or even disfiguring the body through their corruptive powers. The ability can potentially be used to mess with any part of the target, be it their body or their mind (In extreme cases, even the soul or very concept of one's existence)
- Examples: Dark Matter/Zero (Kirby), Dark Samus (Metroid), Siren Head (Trevor Henderson Mythos)
Metaphysical Corruption: This version of Corruption involves corrupting the aspects of one person without any need of physical interaction or words, just through sheer powers. The user's influence can infect the target from a distance and messes with the target the most, as a non-physical based power can potentially affect non-physical based things.
- Examples: Users of "Corruption" (Gachaverse), Spawn (Image Comics), Oryx (Destiny)
Limitations[]
- Those with strong wills might be able to resist these powers
- Inorganic lifeforms such as robots or objects that lack biological parts usually seen in humans might have resistance to this
- It may take time for the target to become fully corrupted, so the target may be able to find a way around it.
